I was exceptionally good at Quake when I was a kid. I was also pretty good at Half Life. Right now, the only thing I really play is Gears of War 2, and I've gotten through Horde solo, so I'm fairly decent just from the constant practice.
The book in general was an interesting idea, but the ending just killed it for me.
I wasn't expecting to get anything this Christmas since we're really tight on money, but my parents surprised me and got me Rock Band II. My roommates and I stayed up till 4 in the morning playing it, it was great.
My roommate has a hat just like that. Awesome.
